What happened
On June 4, 2021, at approximately 14:43 local time, an Agusta S.P.A. A109S helicopter, registered HB-ZWX, was conducting a private flight under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). The aircraft, operated by Alpine Helicopters SA, was en route from Limberg, Zurich, to Lausanne-La Blécherette aerodrome. While flying over the Ecuvillens aerodrome (LSGE), the helicopter encountered a hazardous situation involving two individuals performing wingsuit maneuvers. The flight path of the aircraft resulted in a dangerous proximity to the two parachutists.
The investigation
The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (SUST) initiated an inquiry into the occurrence on July 16, 2021. During the investigative process, authorities determined that the risk-increasing factors associated with this specific event had already been addressed and identified within the scope of a separate investigation. Consequently, the SUST concluded that further investigation into this specific incident would yield limited additional benefits for aviation prevention and subsequently closed the inquiry.
