What happened
On June 7, 1965, a Champion 7, registration HB-UAP, was involved in a ground collision at the Winterthur airfield. While maneuvering on the airfield, the aircraft rolled into a vehicle that was positioned within the taxi zone. The vehicle was in the process of towing a glider at the time of the incident.
The investigation
The investigation established that the collision occurred because the pilot failed to maintain sufficient attention to the surrounding ground traffic. The impact resulted in some damage to both the aircraft and the automobile involved in the event.
