What happened
On July 9, 2021, at approximately 16:00 local time, a Pipistrel Virus SW 128, registered as HB-SYL, was engaged in a private flight under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) at Gruyère Aerodrome (LSGT). The aircraft was performing a departure and arrival sequence within the same airfield. During the takeoff roll, the aircraft experienced a loss of control and capsized, coming to rest on its back on the runway.
The investigation
