What happened
On June 8, 2012, a Piper PA-25-260, registered as TG-KOD, was involved in an aviation accident in Guatemala. The aircraft impacted the ground in the Caserio Las Mareas area, located within the municipality of Ocos, in the department of San Marcos.
The investigation
The investigation was conducted by the Accident Investigation Unit (UIA) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) of Guatemala. The authorities examined the wreckage and the site of the impact to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash. The investigation focused on the operational circumstances and the technical state of the aircraft at the time of the occurrence.
