What happened
Several significant aviation occurrences were investigated by the ANSV, involving various aircraft types and flight operations:
- Fuji FA-200-160 (D-ELHR): During a transfer flight near Caorle, the engine experienced a sudden power reduction and subsequent total failure. The pilot performed an emergency landing on a beach, resulting in minor damage to the aircraft's landing gear and flaps, as well as damage to beach equipment.
- Cessna 182 (I-LUPP): An airprox incident occurred at Roma Urbe airport between a Cessna 182 and a BN-2P. The Cessna 182 entered the control zone without prior contact with the tower or reporting its entry point, leading to a close encounter with another aircraft performing aerial work.
- Fokker F.27 (I-SIXA): During takeoff from Bratislava, the right engine experienced an automatic feathering of the propeller and shut down, forcing an aborted takeoff.
- Short SC7 (VH-WGG): Following a parachute jump near Padova, the main door of the aircraft detached and fell into a populated area. An instructor on board was forced to deploy a parachute to land safely.
- Socata TB 9 (I-IAEU): During landing at Bari Palese, the aircraft veered off the runway after the pilot attempted to correct a wing lift phenomenon.
The investigation
Investigators examined the mechanical and operational circumstances of each event. For the Fuji FA-200-160, the investigation focused on the fuel system and engine performance following a period of prolonged storage. In the case of the Short SC7, the investigation reviewed the procedures used during the door closure process after jumps. For the Cessna 182, the focus was on pilot compliance with air traffic regulations within the Roma Urbe control zone.
