What happened
On March 25, 2009, an MD88 operated by Aerolineas Argentinas SA was performing a flight from Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to El Calafate Airport in Calafate, Argentina. During the flight, the crew encountered smoke or fumes within the cabin. In response to the situation, the aircraft diverted to Almirante Zar Airport in Trelew, Argentina.
There were no injuries reported among the 71 people on board the aircraft, LV-VBZ.
