What happened
On May 8, 2009, at 15:58 local time, a McDonnell Douglas MD90, registration HZ-APW, was involved in an accident at Riyadh Airport. The aircraft, operated by Saudi Arabian Airlines, was performing a non-scheduled positioning flight from Jeddah.
After landing on runway 15R, the aircraft was exiting a high-speed taxiway when the left main landing gear collapsed. This caused the left wing to make contact with the ground. There were no injuries reported among the 8 crew members on board.
