What happened

On October 30, 2010, at approximately 1934 UTC, a Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV, registration N45AC, was performing a landing at Gander International Airport (CYQX) in Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. The aircraft, operated by Crystal Air Aviation, was on a non-scheduled international passenger flight from the Netherlands, using Gander as a fuel stopover en route to Palm Beach International Airport, Florida.

During the landing on runway 3, which measured 10,200 feet by 200 feet of wet asphalt, the aircraft experienced a downwind landing overrun. At the time of the incident, weather conditions were instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) with a visibility of 12 statute miles and winds from 240 degrees at 13 knots.
