What happened
On October 28, 2011, at approximately 1544 UTC, a Boeing 777-200LR, registration A7-BBD, was operating a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Doha, Qatar. While in the cruise phase of flight near Nani, Kenya, the aircraft encountered inflight turbulence. During this event, a cabin crew member sustained serious injuries.
The investigation
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority initiated an investigation into the incident. As the state of manufacture, the United States appointed an Accredited Representative to participate in the inquiry.
