What happened
On January 1, 2015, at approximately 1700 local time, a RANS S-6 Coyote II, registered as CS-UJF, crashed after departing from the Beja Civil Aerodrome (LPBE) in Beja, Portugal. The aircraft struck the terrain following its departure. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that destroyed the airplane.
At the time of the accident, the weather consisted of visual meteorological conditions. No flight plan had been filed for the flight. The accident resulted in 2 serious injuries to the pilot and passenger; there were 0 fatalities.
