What happened
On October 4, 2019, a skydiver was performing an AFF-2/II-2 training mission at Chrcynno (EPNC) using a Navigator 240 parachute. The flight sequence proceeded as planned, including two simulated canopy openings and a right-hand turn. The main canopy was deployed at an altitude of 1,700 meters, and the descent under canopy was stable.
During the landing phase, the skydiver uncrossed her legs prior to touchdown. Immediately following the landing, the individual reported no physical distress. However, approximately 30 minutes later, she began experiencing pain in her left ankle, which was observed to be swollen. The skydiver subsequently sought medical attention at an emergency department, where she was diagnosed with bilateral ankle sprains affecting both the left and right ankles.
The investigation
The investigation, conducted by the operator, examined the sequence of the jump and the physical state of the skydiver post-landing. The inquiry focused on the landing technique and the immediate physiological symptoms reported by the participant.
