What happened
During the MAKS-97 Airshow held at Moscow-Zhukovsky Airport, an aircraft was engaged in a demonstration flight. The pilot, who was the only person on board at the time, was performing maneuvers as part of the event. As the aircraft was performing its takeoff roll, the pilot lost control of the plane. The aircraft subsequently crashed in the vicinity of the runway.
This accident resulted in one fatality, as the pilot was killed in the impact. There were no other occupants on the aircraft during the flight.
