What happened
On February 6, 2025, at approximately 11:18 local time, a Socata TBM700 C2, registered as HB-KHC, crashed in a field located roughly 1 km south of Leuzigen, Switzerland. The aircraft was operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) on a private flight originating from Locarno Airport (LSZL) with a planned destination of Grenchen Airport (LSZG).
Upon impact, the aircraft was destroyed, though the ground sustained only light damage. The crash occurred at an altitude of 535 meters above sea level.
The investigation
The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (SUST) has opened an inquiry into the event. As this is a preliminary report, the investigation is ongoing to determine the full sequence of events leading to the impact. The investigation will focus on the flight path from Locarno to Grenchen and the circumstances surrounding the loss of control or flight path deviation near Leuzigen.
