Incident
On August 12, 1970, China Airlines Flight 206, a scheduled domestic passenger service, was preparing to land at Taipei Songshan Airport. The aircraft, a NAMC YS-11 with registration B-156, encountered a severe thunderstorm accompanied by heavy fog during the final approach. While descending, the plane struck a bamboo grove near the top of Yuan Mountain, crashing before reaching the runway.
