Departure and Initial Gear Issue
The pilot departed from North Huntsville on a runway that was wet from melted snow. After takeoff, the landing gear would not retract, prompting a return and landing. A mechanic discovered ice on the anti-retraction switch of the left main landing gear. The ice was melted using a ground heater, and the switch was cleaned. A subsequent takeoff was performed, during which the gear retracted normally.
Nose Gear Malfunction During Arrival
During arrival at the destination, the nose landing gear extended only partially—approximately halfway. The pilot was unable to fully extend and lock the nose gear using either the normal or emergency extension systems. The aircraft touched down on the main landing gear with the propellers feathered.
