The pilot of a Citabria reported that during a takeoff attempt on a snow-covered private airstrip, the aircraft failed to obtain flying speed before reaching the end of the runway. According to the pilot, he aborted the takeoff too late.
Accident Sequence
The aircraft subsequently contacted a snowbank and nosed over. The pilot stated that after the accident, during an inspection, he noticed that the carburetor heat had inadvertently been left in the 'on' position from the previous flight.
