Event Details
A pilot reported that after flying in the local area, he established a traffic pattern for landing on runway 32. Following touchdown, the airplane rolled approximately 2,600 feet from the approach end. The pilot then slowed the airplane to turn around in the middle of the runway. During the maneuver, the airplane moved too close to the east edge of the runway surface, causing the left wing tip to contact small tree saplings. The airplane yawed to the left and subsequently collided with a large tree approximately seven feet tall. After the collision, the airplane came to rest in a ditch alongside the runway.

The pilot did not report any mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane before the incident. According to the pilot, runway 32 measured 3,800 feet in length and 80 feet in width. The Cessna 150 Owner's Manual lists the airplane's wing span as 32 feet 8 1/2 inches.
Post-Accident Examination
An examination of the airplane revealed that the left wing was twisted back, with buckling present on both the upper and lower wing skin surfaces.
