What happened
During a series of touch-and-go landings on runway 22 at Venice Airport, the pilot attempted to land the aircraft. An observer near the hangar noted that as the aircraft approached the runway, it performed a slight lift, reaching an altitude approximately equivalent to a two-and-a regular story building. During this maneuver, the right wing raised while the left wing dropped. The aircraft failed to touch down on the runway.
The investigation
A physical examination of the wreckage was conducted. The inspection of the aircraft structure, flight controls, and all aircraft systems revealed no discrepancies. Furthermore, the engine assembly, engine components, and propeller showed no mechanical issues or defects following the accident.
Findings
Postmortem examination and toxicology testing performed on the pilot showed no evidence that could be considered a cause of the accident. No other aircraft were flying in the area at the time of the event.
