What happened
During the takeoff phase, the pilot reported that the initial takeoff roll and liftoff proceeded normally. However, shortly after becoming airborne, the aircraft exhibited a lower than normal rate of climb.
As the aircraft approached the end of the departure airstrip, which is approximately 2,000 feet in length and bordered by large trees, the pilot initiated a turn to the west toward lower terrain in an attempt to clear the approaching tree line. Following this maneuver, the airplane collided with trees and ultimately impacted the terrain while in an inverted, nose-low attitude. The field elevation at the time of the event was approximately 2,800 feet MSL.
