What happened

The airplane experienced a collapse of the right main landing gear while it was in the process of landing. According to the pilot's account, there was very little wind at the time of the accident, estimated to be between 3 to 4 knots. He stated that the touchdown was normal and not hard. Shortly after touchdown, the airplane began veering to the right. The pilot stated he was unable to stop the veer using rudder control, nose wheel steering, and brakes. The airplane veered off the right side of the runway where it contacted a chain link fence.
