What happened
A commercial certificated pilot was conducting a business flight under Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. The objective was to land a wheel-equipped airplane on an asphalt road situated near a rural ranch.
During the landing flare phase, the aircraft entered a stall condition. As a result of this aerodynamic loss of lift, the nose wheel struck the roadway surface with significant force. This impact caused the nose landing gear to collapse immediately upon contact.
Following the structural failure of the nose gear, the airplane veered off the paved surface. The loss of support at the front of the aircraft led to a nosing over incident, bringing the flight to an abrupt end on the ground.
