Accident Overview
On October 27, 2007, at about 1505 Japan Standard Time, a Robinson R-22B helicopter with registration JA-102D was destroyed when it crashed onto railway tracks near Yao-City, Japan. The aircraft was consumed by impact forces and a post-crash fire.

The helicopter was operated by Osaka Aviation Inc. of Osaka, Japan. The flight was a demonstration flight that had concluded, and the helicopter was returning to the airport. The flight was conducted in accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations of Japan.
Occupants
The pilot and a passenger were on board. They sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
Investigation
The Government of Japan has jurisdiction over the accident investigation. The Aircraft and Railways Accidents Investigation Commission, part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is conducting the investigation.
