Accident Details
On November 15, 2007, at approximately 1030 Japan Standard Time, a Cessna 404 aircraft, registration JA-5257, collided with steep terrain on the slopes of Mt. Etna near Nakatsugawa City, Japan. The aircraft was destroyed in the accident.
Flight and Operator
The airplane was operated by Showa Aviation Co. and was conducting a photo flight in the area. The flight was conducted under the provisions of the Civil Aviation Regulations of Japan.
Injuries
The pilot and the photographer sustained fatal injuries. A company engineer suffered serious injuries.
