What happened
During a takeoff from a narrow, off-airport site operating under Title 14, CFR Part 91, the pilot experienced a loss of directional control. According to the pilot, excessive rudder input during the takeoff roll caused the aircraft to veer to the right. As the aircraft moved off the prepared surface, the right wing struck high alder brush located adjacent to the takeoff area.
The aircraft continued into a patch of alders and small spruce trees. The impact resulted in damage to the left wing leading edge, tip, and spar, as well as damage to the right wing leading edge. Additionally, the left landing gear and the propeller sustained damage during the excursion.
