Incident Details
On January 21, 2010, a Cargolux Airlines Boeing 747-400F, registered as LX-OCV, was landing at Luxembourg-Findel International Airport in CAT IIIB weather conditions. During the landing, the aircraft struck the top of a maintenance van that was present on the runway. The 747 landed safely, sustaining only minor damage. The maintenance van, however, received severe damage. There were no injuries to the three crew members aboard the aircraft or the two maintenance technicians on the runway.
Investigation
Investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Luxembourg Administration Des Enquêtes Techniques. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has assigned an Accredited Representative to assist, under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, as the country of manufacture and design of the airplane.
