Accident Overview
On 12 May 2010, Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771, a scheduled international passenger flight from Johannesburg, South Africa, to Tripoli, Libya, crashed while approaching Tripoli International Airport. The aircraft, an Airbus A330-200, came down approximately 1,200 metres short of the runway at about 06:01 local time.
Occupants and Fatalities
There were 104 passengers and crew members on board. Of these, 103 were killed. The sole survivor was a 9-year-old Dutch boy.
