Incident Overview
On October 10, 2011, Sky Airlines flight ZY 8756, a Boeing 737-400 (registration TC-SKF, serial number 26291), was operating a scheduled service from Baden Airpark (EDSB) to Antalya Airport (LTAI). During the landing sequence on Runway 18C, the right landing gear collapsed. The right main landing gear tire deflated, and the aircraft settled onto the right engine before coming to a stop on the runway.
Investigation
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Turkey is conducting an investigation into the incident. As the state of manufacture of some of the aircraft's components, the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a US Accredited Representative under Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation to assist the DGCA in their inquiry. All further inquiries regarding the incident should be directed to the DGCA.
