What happened
On 12 February 2012, a Gulfstream IV operated by Katanga Express was performing an approach to Kavumu Airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. During the landing phase, the aircraft struck a plantation located roughly twenty metres from the airport perimeter near Bukavu. The impact resulted in the deaths of four people on board, including the two pilots and two passengers. Additionally, the crash caused the deaths of two farmers who were near the site and were struck by the descending aircraft.
