Incident Details
The flight crew anticipated light turbulence during the descent and notified the cabin crew. Prior to descending from 28,000 feet, the fasten seatbelt sign was selected on. As the aircraft descended, flight attendants were still preparing the cabin for arrival when the turbulence increased to a level the crew categorized as moderate.
Injuries
While attempting to reach her seat, a flight attendant was thrown against the 3L door and fell to the floor, injuring her right ankle. She was unable to complete her duties and was assisted into the last row of seats. Another flight attendant informed the flight crew of the situation.
Response
The flight crew arranged for paramedics to meet the aircraft upon arrival. The injured flight attendant was transported to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with a broken right tibia in two places.
