Incident Overview
The pilot of a tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that during the landing roll, while the aircraft was traveling at approximately 35 miles per hour, it began to veer to the right. The pilot applied opposite rudder control and was able to return the airplane to the runway centerline. However, the airplane quickly turned right again, and despite the pilot's application of rudder and brakes, control was not regained.
Sequence of Events
As the airplane continued to turn right, it tipped onto the left main landing gear. This caused the left wing and horizontal stabilizer to make contact with the ground. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the left aileron, horizontal stabilizer, and elevator.

The pilot reported no preimpact malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
