What happened
On February 15, 2015, at 10:20 local time, a Bell 206 L4, registration P2-HFZ, was performing maneuvers with an external load near Wabo, Papua New Guinea. During this operation, the aircraft experienced a loss of engine power. This led to a hard landing in the area.
The helicopter was operated by Helifax Operations Limited in accordance with the civil regulations of Papua New Guinea. The pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained minor injuries. The aircraft was substantially damaged.
