What happened
On April 8, 2015, a Shorts SC-7 Skyvan (registration OE-FDN), operated by Pink Aviation Services Gmbh, was in the descent phase of flight near Klatovy, Czech Republic. During this phase, the aircraft's right-hand engine experienced an uncontained failure of the No. 2 turbine wheel.
Debris from the failed turbine wheel struck the right-hand forward sidewall fuel cell, causing damage and subsequent fuel loss.
There were no injuries resulting from this event.
