Accident Details
A pilot reported that during the landing roll of a tailwheel-equipped airplane, the aircraft began to drift to the left. In response, the pilot locked the left brake. The application of the brake caused the airplane to exit the left side of the runway. Subsequently, the right wing struck the ground, which induced a spin, and the airplane came to rest on its nose.
Aircraft Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to several components, including the horizontal stabilizer, right elevator, right wing, and right aileron. The extent of the damage indicates significant structural impact.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane prior to or during the flight that would have precluded normal operation. The pilot did not report any other factors or conditions that may have contributed to the drift.
