What happened

On July 5, 2015, at approximately 02:10 local time, a Boeing 737-800, registration HL8224, operated by Korean Airlines, veered off the runway at A. B. Won Pat Guam International Airport in Tamuning, Guam. The flight, operating under instrument flight rules (IFR) from Busan, Korea, was performing an ILS approach in heavy rain conditions.

After landing on runway 06R, the aircraft drifted off the right side of the runway. The pilot was able to correct the trajectory, bringing the aircraft back onto the runway surface where it came to a complete stop. The aircraft required towing to the gate.

There were no injuries among the 2 flight crew members, 5 cabin crew members, or 75 passengers. The aircraft sustained minor damage, while the impact caused the destruction of two runway edge lights, two taxiway lights, and one taxiway sign.
