Notification
On August 5, 2016, the Italian National Agency for Flight Safety (Agenzia Nazionale per la sicurezza del volo, ANSV) formally notified the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Boeing 737 aircraft. This notification was made in accordance with international protocols.
Investigation
In response, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the ANSV in the investigation. The NTSB participates in this capacity as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the Boeing 737, under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13. The ANSV has stated that all investigative information will be released by the ANSV of Italy.
