On May 12, 2017, at approximately 0635 UTC, a Lancair IV P, registration SE-XRU, struck the ground near Grenaa, Denmark. The aircraft was performing a non-commercial cross-country flight originating from Aarhus Airport (EKAH) in Tirstrup, Denmark.
At the time of the accident, the weather was characterized by visual meteorological conditions. The impact resulted in substantial damage to the aircraft, but the pilot and one passenger were not injured.
