What happened
On March 7, 2026, at 22:10 Central daylight time, a Bell Textron 505 helicopter, registration N911FW, was involved in an accident near Fort Worth, Texas. The aircraft, operated by the City of Fort Worth under Part 91 regulations, was climbing above trees during the takeoff phase when the engine power decreased to idle power.
In response to the power loss, the pilot performed a forced landing into an open grass field. The helicopter sustained substantial damage to its vertical stabilizer. The pilot and the crew member were not injured.
