What happened
On 21 November 2023, a Pilatus PC-12/45 operated by North Star Air Ltd. was performing a scheduled flight from Sioux Lookout Airport (CYXL) to Kasabonika Airport (CYAQ) in Ontario. The flight was carrying a total of eight people, including two crew members and six passengers.
During the landing phase on Runway 03, the aircraft failed to stop within the runway limits and overran the end of the pavement. The aircraft eventually came to a stop roughly 350 feet past the departure end of the runway. The impact of the overrun caused significant damage to the aircraft. Following the event, the aircraft's emergency locator transmitter was activated.
The investigation
The TSB conducted a Class 4 investigation into the event. There were no injuries reported among the crew or the passengers on board.
