What happened
During a scheduled night flight arriving from Guangzhou, the crew initiated an ILS approach toward runway 19L at Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi Airport. The landing itself was reported as smooth; however, as the crew began applying brakes, the aircraft type (unspecified in source) traveled approximately 1,000 meters before deviating toward the right side of the runway.
As the aircraft left the paved surface and encountered soft ground, the nose landing gear collapsed. The impact with the earth caused the aircraft to sink, subsequently leading to fires in both engines. Despite the severity of the excursion, all 302 occupants were successfully rescued from the wreckage. Among the passengers, 14 injuries were reported.
Findings
Following the excursion, the aircraft was determined to be a total loss, having sustained damage beyond repair.
