Birdstrike Incident Involving Iberia Airbus A330-200 at Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport (EC-MKJ)

Incident Overview On 26 November 2024, an Airbus A330-200 registered EC-MKJ, operated by Iberia, was on a scheduled commercial passenger flight from Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (LEMD) to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (SAEZ). The aircraft departed Madrid at 11:22 UTC. ## Event Description During the approach phase to Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport, the flight crew reported a strike beneath the aircraft cabin at 23:33 UTC. The crew continued the approach and completed the landing without further issues. The event was subsequently recorded in the aircraft's technical log as a bird impact. ## Post-Event Inspection Following the landing, maintenance personnel inspected the aircraft. A blood stain was found near the radome, but no physical damage attributable to the bird impact was identified. ## Airport Investigation Personnel from Aeropuertos Argentina and the Ground Control of the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) conducted a search of runway 11/29 at the airport. No foreign object debris or bird remains were located during the inspection.
