What happened
A cargo operation traveling from Novosibirsk to Mirny, which included a scheduled stop in Krasnoyarsk, crashed shortly after departing the airfield. The flight was transporting a variety of goods, including clothing, food, and tobacco, along with a crew of seven and six passengers. During the takeoff sequence, the pilot initiated rotation at a speed of 280 km/h after the aircraft had traveled 2,400 metres along the runway.
Immediately following liftoff, the aircraft experienced lateral instability, oscillating left and right, though the crew maintained a climb rate of approximately 4 metres per second. As the aircraft reached an altitude of 150 metres while traveling at 330 km/h, the crew began the process of retracting the flaps. At this moment, the aircraft lost altitude and entered an uncontrolled descent. The aircraft struck trees and crashed within a forested area situated roughly 5 km from the airport. The impact and subsequent fire resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and the deaths of all 13 occupants.
Findings
At the time of the accident, meteorological conditions were poor, characterized by snowfall and icing conditions. The sequence of events suggests the loss of control occurred specifically during the transition of flap configuration during the initial climb phase.
