What happened
During a period of flight characterized by poor visibility and inclement weather, an aircraft was performing a cruise phase when it collided with the side of Mt Zhaksy-Zhangyztau. The mountain involved in the impact has an elevation of 729 meters. At the time of the collision, the crew was navigating through difficult meteorological conditions.
Following the impact, the status of those on board could not be determined, and the fate of the occupant remains unknown.
Findings
Investigations into the accident revealed that the flight was conducted at an altitude that did not meet the required minimum safe standards for the terrain. The primary factor contributing to the accident was controlled flight into terrain resulting from the crew's failure to maintain sufficient clearance from the mountain slope while flying in low-visibility weather.
