What happened
During the initial climb phase immediately following takeoff from Mirny Airport, the aircraft experienced a malfunction involving the right engine's reverse thrust system, which deployed unexpectedly. This deployment caused the aircraft to bank sharply to the right, leading the right wing tip to make contact with the runway surface.
Following the wing strike, the aircraft lost directional control and underwent a crash landing. The momentum of the vessel caused it to veer off the runway, eventually coming to a stop after colliding with a nearby building. The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
- The primary factor in the loss of control was the uncommanded deployment of the reverse thrust system on the right engine during the takeoff climb.
- There were 12 occupants on board the aircraft during the incident.
- All passengers and crew members managed to exit the wreckage, and there were 0 fatalities and 12 minor injuries reported.
