What happened
On a mission to deliver food aid for the Libyan Government, an aircraft departed from Sebha Airport in Libya at 02:50 local time, bound for N'Djamena. The flight was operated as a humanitarian mission and was carrying a crew of six people.
During the nighttime approach to the destination, the crew notified Air Traffic Control of a technical issue. In response to this problem, the aircraft began performing a holding pattern. Shortly after this communication, the aircraft entered an uncontrolled descent. The plane crashed into a vegetable plantation situated near Kousséri, Cameroon. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and the deaths of all six occupants.
Findings
Prior to the crash, the crew had explicitly reported experiencing a technical problem while attempting to manage the arrival.
