What happened

On a scheduled instrument flight rules (IFR) arrival from Grande Prairie, Alberta, the aircraft was performing an instrument approach toward Runway 29 at Fort St. John, British Columbia. At 11:33 mountain standard time, the aircraft made contact with the approach and runway threshold lights, landing approximately 320 feet before the start of the runway.

Following the impact with the lights, the nose and right main landing gear failed. The aircraft subsequently came to a stop on the right side of the runway, at a distance of 380 feet from the threshold. There were no injuries reported among the 12 people on board, which included the pilot, a crew member, and 10 passengers.
