On October 19, 2004, at approximately 19:37 CDT, a scheduled passenger flight operated by Corporate Airlines (operating as American Connection) was performing its final approach to runway 36 at Kirksville Regional Airport in Kirksville, Missouri. The aircraft, a BAE Systems BAE-J3201 with registration N875JX, was traveling from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport to its destination.

During the approach phase, the aircraft made contact with trees located short of the runway. The subsequent impact and a fire that ignited after the crash resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. The accident occurred under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) while the flight was operating under instrument flight rules.
