What happened
A twin-engine aircraft was performing a multi-leg journey originating in the South Pacific with a destination in the United States. The flight path included a scheduled stop at Punta Chivato Airfield in Baja California Sur to disembark a passenger.
Upon departing from Punta Chivato, the aircraft experienced a significant loss of airspeed and altitude. The aircraft entered a stall condition shortly after departure, leading to a crash in the vicinity of the Hotel Posada de la Flores. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that completely destroyed the twin-engine aircraft. The pilot was the only occupant confirmed to be killed in the accident.
Findings
The aircraft suffered a stall during the initial climb phase of the flight, which directly led to the loss of altitude and subsequent impact with the ground.
