What happened
A twin-engine aircraft departed from Bogotá-El Dorado International Airport, bound for Bogotá-Guaymaral Airport. The flight was operated with one pilot and three passengers on board. Approximately three minutes after departing from runway 13L, the aircraft was climbing through an altitude of 200 feet under visual flight rules (VFR). During this climb, the plane initiated a left turn before descending into the ground.
The impact occurred within the Engativá district, close to the airport, where the aircraft struck several residential buildings. The collision caused the plane to burst into flames, leading to the destruction of the aircraft, several houses, and various vehicles in the vicinity. The accident resulted in nine fatalities, including all four people on board the aircraft and five individuals located on the ground. Additionally, thirteen injuries were reported, with seven of those victims sustaining serious wounds.
