What happened
During a nighttime departure from Orlando-Herndon Airport, an aircraft entered a fatal accident while attempting to climb through challenging meteorological conditions. Shortly after departing the runway, the pilot lost command of the aircraft type during the early stages of flight. The subsequent impact resulted in the deaths of all four occupants.
Findings
Investigations into the crash identified several environmental and physiological factors that contributed to the accident. The primary cause was determined to be a loss of control during the initial ascent, which occurred after the pilot began the flight despite unfavorable weather. Specific contributing elements included:
- The pilot experienced spatial disorientation during the climb
- Presence of haze in the area
- Low cloud ceiling
