What happened

On a scheduled flight from Washington Regional Airport, located approximately 70 km west of Saint Louis, Missouri, a twin engine airplane began its journey at 1058LT. The flight was intended to last one hour, with a destination of Mosby.

While performing a left-hand circuit pattern, the pilot attempted to begin the approach to runway 18 at the Mosby-Midwest National Air Center Airport. During this phase of flight, the aircraft descended into an open field situated roughly 1.5 km north of the airfield. Upon impact, the aircraft caught fire, and the resulting post-crash blaze completely destroyed the airframe. There were two fatalities recorded in the accident.

Following the impact, a significant fire broke out, which led to the total destruction of the aircraft.
